“When several meetings coordinate their activities, they create an intergroup, which is a board or committee through which these groups provide services” [p. 91, Third Edition]. An intergroup, once formed, becomes its own organizational entity.

The Sacramento Area Intergroup is 501(c)3 non-profit public benefit corporation which hosts an assembly of SAA members representing autonomous SAA groups in the greater Sacramento area. The intergroup’s Executive Committee meets regularly to conduct business for the benefit of the local member groups. Autonomous groups choose whether or not to participate in the intergroup’s Inter-Fellowship Forum.
